What do you want UKONS to do for you?

UKONS board members are now planning their strategy for the year ahead and the next five years. Please keep us up to date with your views on what you think UKONS can do for you.

What do you want UKONS to deliver for you?

We will encompass all replies in our 2008/2010 strategy and look forward to both consolidation of the excellent work already begun and to the future development of UKONS and for nurses working with cancer patients and their carers.

Be radical! Thanks for your help.

There is so much potential in UKONS, I would like to see UKONS establish a credentialling system for it's members much like the US has, that both rewards and requires CPD and serves as a standard of excellence.

I would like to see computer-based education sessions available from the UKONS website on all aspects of cancer care.

I would like to see CNS networked into special interest groups to share best practice, overcome challenges and develop new standards.

I would like to see new nurses drawn to oncology because there are professional standards that will excite and challenge them.

We have more power to infucnece patient care if we have National recommendation & guidence. We all reinvent the wheel regulary. I would like to see National recommendation on staffing lelves in in patient, day case, haem & onc etc instead of each having to do this ourselves and National training & training packages that are competency based & best practice but open to local twicking!
